My Philosophy of Practice
Coming Soon!
Hello,
a bit about me:
I am a mother of 7 precious children; an 8 year old daughter, two beautiful angel babies, 2 bonus-daughters, ages 11 and 19, and 2 sons, ages 2 years and our baby boy who was born in April 2018! We live in Fort Worth, Texas where my husband and I have been married for 6 wonderful years and he has been a great supporter through my journey into birth work.
I committed my life to Christ in 2010, shortly after the birth of my daughter, and I believe that my passion to support families through birth is a calling God placed in my heart during that time. With the loss of my second pregnancy in September of 2013, I experienced the love and support that a doula can bring. My doula helped me through this very difficult time and I hope that experience can help me give even more love and support to families during pregnancy, labor, and loss.
My passion to serve expectant families comes from my own first birth experience. Being young, scared, and naïve to my choices, I put my full trust in my doctor and ended up with an induction and an epidural. Thankfully I had a healthy, happy baby girl, but had I been more educated and supported, I may have also gotten the natural birth experience I desired.
I have been a birth and bereavement doula since 2014 and added placenta encapsulation and Bengkung belly binding to my services in 2015. After my first home birth in Spring 2016 I knew the Lord was calling me to midwifery. I began attending births as a student midwife in Fall 2017 and started studies at MCU in Winter 2018.
When I am not studying or attending births you can find me homeschooling my children, practicing yoga, cooking, or reading with a cup of coffee or tea in hand. I value nutrition and strive to raise my children in a healthy and balanced way. I strive to live life with intention and find beauty and joy in all things.
