ATTENTION: I am now pursuing a degree in midwifery at Midwives College of Utah and am unable to take new birth doula clients at this time. I am still available for bereavement, placenta, and belly binding services. Stay updated by following me on Facebook or on my ePortfolio.
Birth Support
As a Doula, I Do Not:

Free Consultation
When choosing your doula, it is important to meet with her in person before making a commitment to hire her. Your pregnancy and birth is an intensely intimate time in your life and should only be shared with someone you feel comfortable with. During this free interview we will get to know each other to determine if we will be a good match for the day of your baby's birth.
Prenatal Visits
During your prenatal visits we will discuss your desires for your birth and work through any trauma from a previous birth experience you may have. I will help educate you on labor and birth (although I do strongly recommend that you take childbirth education classes), and provide recommended resources if needed. Together we will create your plan for your baby's birth and I will provide you with a beautiful, keepsake visual birth plan. I will also gladly accompany you to a visit with your health care provider as one of our visits. Our last visit will be in your home at 38 weeks. Once your contract is signed, I will be on call and available to you 24 hours a day until you have your baby!
Every client recieves access to my growing lending library of books and dvds on pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and baby care.
Phone & Email Support
Once hired, I will provide you with unlimited phone and email support up to 3 weeks postpartum to answer any questions, help you find reliable information, and soothe any fears you may have.
During and After Labor
I will support you during your labor, either laboring with you at home until you are ready to go to the hospital or birth center, or meeting you at your place of birth. I will provide you with physical and emotional comfort measures as you work towards bringing your baby into your arms. You are welcome to use my essential oils and diffuser, birth ball, and other useful tools.
After your baby is here I will stay with you for up to 2 hours providing postpartum and breastfeeding support.
Postpartum Follow-Up Visit
Days after your birth I will come to your home to provide you with breastfeeding support and help you get that laundry folded and some much needed rest! I'll also bring my own wrap or sling to help you get comfortable with baby wearing and show you how easy it can be!
I will also provide you with a written birth timeline and help you process your story in your own words.
Perform any clinical tasks
I'm not a midwife or trained nurse. I can not provide you with any medical support or advice but I can help you ask the right questions of those who are qualified if needed.
Make decisions for you
This is your birth! Whether you want a completely unmedicated birth or you are planning a c-section, I am there to support YOUR decisions. I will gladly help you find evidence based information to help you make the decisions that are best for you.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
You are your own advocate. I can gently remind you of your desires for your birth, or translate medical terms for you, but I cannot speak for you.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
I can give you gentle suggestions, and help you find the information you need to make the best decisions for you. But this is your body, your birth, and your baby; only you know what is right for you and I am happy to support you in whatever decisions you make.
